Students enrolled in Child Development at Lauderdale County High School toured facilities at Eliza Coffee Memorial (ECM) Hospital during the week of September 10. Child Development is one of the classes offered at LCHS in the Family and Consumer Science (FaCS) department. Ms. Denise Ells teaches all FaCS classes at LCHS.
This field trip fulfilled the observational experiences that are a required component of the Child Development course. Students toured hospital facilities important to the birthing process and newborn care, including labor and delivery rooms and the newborn nursery. Students also observed a routine ultrasound.
