General School Announcements
- Printed progress reports for the 3rd 9-week grading period (Q3) will be sent home on Friday, February 3.
- No school for students on Monday, February 20. Spring Break is March 27-31. No school on April 7. The last official day of school will be Thursday, May 25.
- Seniors will take semester exams Thursday-Friday, May 11-12.
- Graduation is Friday, May 26.

- Basketball teams:
- (BG, BB, VG, VB) will play at Muscle Shoals on Friday, January 27, beginning at 4:00 PM
- **Note change** (VG, VB) will play at Rogers on Monday, January 30, beginning at 6:00 PM
- **Note change** (BB, VG, VB) will host Central on Tuesday, January 31, beginning at 4:30 PM. We will honor senior athletes between games.

Announcements Related to School Clubs, Events, Activities, and Opportunities
- The Football Banquet will be on Thursday, February 2, beginning at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.
- The JAG District Competition will be on February 7 at the Marriott in Florence. The competition begins at 9:00 AM.
- The Drama Club will present its spring production on April 18, 20, 21 at 7:00 PM nightly in the AV Room. More details to come...
- The junior/senior prom will be at the Anderson Center on Friday, May 19, 8:00 PM - midnight.

Announcements Related to Local Programs, Opportunities, Competitions, and Activities
- Set an alarm if you signed up for the February 11 ACT. The test starts at 8:00 AM. Make sure you have your ticket printed.
- The ACT with Writing will be given to all juniors (free of charge) on Tuesday, March 14.
Announcements Related to College Admissions and Information Sessions
- An Alabama State University representative will meet with seniors on February 16.
- Students, especially seniors, should check their school email accounts daily to make sure they get all scholarship information.
- Huntingdon College Preview Day is Monday, February 20, 2023. You are invited to schedule a personal visit any weekday. Go to www.huntingdon.edu/visit to do so.
Announcements Related to Scholarships
- The 2023 Horatio Alger Scholarship is open for applications. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2023. This is only for Juniors. The primary focus of this scholarship is on overcoming adversity or hardships you have endured in life. See Mrs. Brown or Mrs Morgan if you are interested.
- The FAME program application for Calhoun Community College and NWSCC is open. The deadline to apply is March 31. Please see Mrs. Brown for more information.
- Seniors, please see Mrs. Brown to make an appointment (if necessary) to fill out your FAFSA. Remember this is a graduation requirement and needs to be done ASAP. Your FAFSA must be completed before you can submit Scholarship applications. Remaining scholarship deadlines: Calhoun Community College is Feb. 1; UNA is Feb. 1; NWSCC is Feb. 15; Wallace State is Feb. 15; and Auburn is February 1.
- Kaleigh Pennington Memorial Scholarship is now open for seniors who have been identified as possessing the characteristics of Dyslexia. Please see Mrs. Brown for an application. Deadline is March 10.
- Seniors, the Kiwanis Club of Rogersville Scholarship is now open. Please pick up a copy from Mrs. Brown or Mrs. Morgan in the H.S. office. The deadline is March 17, 2023.
- NEW SCHOLARSHIP! The Kiwanas Club of Rogersville is offering a Technical and Career scholarship. This scholarship is specifically funded for a student who will be pursuing a vocational trade through a junior college or technical program. See Mrs. Morgan for an application. Deadline to apply is March 17.
- ALABAMA CATTLEWOMEN’S ASSOCIATION LOUISE WILSON ACADEMIC AND LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP: Male and female students are eligible to apply. The student, his/her mother, stepmother or grandmother must have been a member of the Alabama CattleWomen’s Association for the years of 2020, 2021 and 2022. (If dues were not paid in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, but were paid in 2019 and 2021 please make a note on the application.) Receive an application from your local CattleWomen’s association or email Shelby Windham at shelbyw2014@gmail.com for an application. All application materials are due January 31, 2023.
- The CollegeCounts Scholarship is open for applications. The deadline to apply is February 28, 2023. Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship: a high school senior or first-time college freshman beginning in fall 2023, a U.S. citizen, an Alabama resident, planning to enroll in an Alabama eligible educational institution in fall 2023, demonstrate financial need, have a minimum GPA of 2.75, have an ACT of 26 or below
- Alabama Chemistry Society Scholars Program is taking applications now until March 1, 2023. The requirements for eligibility are as follows: U.S. citizens or a legal permanent U.S. residents (please inquire via email if you have questions regarding asylum or DACA status); African descent or Black, Hispanic or Latina/Latino/Latinx, or Indigenous (e.g. Native American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native) (please see below for more details); Graduating high school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores or juniors. Seniors can apply for their fifth year; Those intending to major or are already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or another chemistry-related science AND planning to pursue a career in a chemistry-related science as well; Full-time students at a high school or an accredited college, university, or community college; Those demonstrating high academic achievement in chemistry or science (Grade Point Average 3.0 or higher)
- Applications for The Alabama Home Builders Foundation are open from now until March 15, 2023. Eligibility Requirements are as follows: must be a resident of Alabama; must be enrolling in, or attending, an accredited community college, technical school or university in Alabama; must be enrolled in a residential construction-related curriculum.
