General School Announcements
- Report cards went home Friday, October 22.
- Students have received papers with information about the parent portal for PowerSchool. The parent portal allows parents to check grades and attendance for their children. Parents, please ask your children for this information.
- There will be a Senior Parent Informational Meeting on Thursday, November 4, in the cafeteria.
- School will be closed on Thursday, November 11, for Veterans Day.
- LCHS is partnering with Channel 19 for their Great Diaper Drive. Our slogan is “The Great Candy Dive for the Great Diaper Drive”! Anyone who brings in diapers will have the chance to “dive” for Halloween candy.
Announcements Related to LCHS Athletic and Extracurricular Events
- Football plays at Brooks on *Thursday*, October 28. We will host Vinemont in the 1st round of playoffs on Friday, November 5.
- Cross country sectional competition is on Thursday, October 28.
- 8G and 8B basketball teams will play in the West Limestone tip-off tournament on November 1, 2, and 4. Junior high basketball teams (7B, 8G, 8B) play at Wilson on Monday, November 8, beginning at 4:30. Junior high basketball teams (7B, 8G, 8B) host Central on Monday, November 15, beginning at 4:30.
- Basketball (BG, BB, VG, VB) begins on Friday, November 19, at Lexington. However, this date is subject to reschedule if we (or Lexington) are still playing football.

- High school students interested in tutoring after school hours, please sign a list in Mrs. Brown's office.
- JAG will be attending the Joint Leadership Development Conference on Oct 27 at the County Office annex building.
Announcements Related to School Fees and Orders
- Students may eat breakfast and lunch for free this year, but they will be charged for any extra food or drink. Please fill out the form to apply for free/reduced lunch rates even though everyone is getting free lunch this year. - The next ACT will be Saturday, December 11. The regular (no extra fee) deadline is Friday, November 5.

Announcements Related to College Admissions and Information Sessions
- Colleges and universities are now accepting applications for admission for Fall 2022.
- FAFSA online applications are open. Please see Mrs. Brown to schedule an appointment for assistance.
- Reminder to Seniors- You are only allowed 2 Job Shadow and 2 College Visits per school year. Your form must be turned in, in advance to Mrs. Stephanie Hendrix, or you will not be excused unless you use one of your parent notes.
Announcements Related to Scholarships, Awards, and Financial Aid
- Seniors - All seniors will need to fill out a FAFSA application this year as a new Graduation Requirement. Please see Mrs. Brown for an appointment for assistance as soon as possible.
- Seniors, scholarship information can be found on the following sites: StudentsScholarships.org, www.fastweb.com, Cappex.com, Scholarships.com You should be checking these sites. There are hundreds of opportunities for help with college expenses.
- The Coca-Cola Scholars foundation is now taking applications. The deadline to turn it in is October 31, 2021. There is a link on the Site page.
