This Parent\Student Handbook is designed to be a guide in assisting you in understanding the policies, rules and procedures of the Lauderdale County School System. Copies of  Board Policies and Local School Policies are available at each school, the board office, and online at The general purpose of the handbook is to inform students and parent\guardians of their basic rights and responsibilities. These rights and responsibilities in no way diminish the legal authority of school officials and the Board of Education. The Board reserves the right to amend any and all policies at their discretion.


Please remember that no student has the right to interfere with the education of another student. Students have the responsibility to respect the rights of all persons involved in the educational process and to exercise the highest degree of self-discipline in observing and adhering to rules and regulations. Accepting responsibility is expected and is inherent in the exercise of every right.
