The Lauderdale County Board of Education and Administration congratulations our 2020 Athletes of the Year! Laura Lee Keener, Central High School graduate, is female athlete of the year, outstanding in volleyball, basketball, and softball. Slade Brown, LCHS graduate, is the male athlete of the year and is a standout in football as quarterback and baseball.
Laura Lee is outstanding in basketball, volleyball, and softball, and graduates Central High School with a 4.38 GPA, awarded the National Heisman High School Scholarship. She was also the 4A Region 8 Scholar Athlete, represented CHS and LCS in the Bryant-Jordan Student Athlete Program. Laura Lee has committed to play volleyball at Southern Union State Community College.
This winter, Laura Lee said, “I stepped off the court for the last time tonight as a Central Wildcat, it is honestly hard to believe my whole career has been full of success and failure, and I am thankful for both, so grateful God gave me this platform. Basketball, I love you. 1 out.”
Committed to Snead State to continue his academic and baseball career, Slade said, "I'd like to thank my family, the community of LCHS, and all of my coaches for helping me throughout this year @SneadBaseball."
