Dear Lauderdale Graduates and Families,

We are excited to honor our 2020 graduating seniors! We are proud of your accomplishments and a public opportunity to recognize each of you. Our high schools will host commencement graduation ceremonies on Friday night, May 22, 2020, at the previously scheduled times. All graduation ceremonies will be held at each school’s football stadium. If we experience inclement weather, the ceremonies will be postponed until the following evening, Saturday, May 23, at the previously scheduled times.

Lauderdale County Schools are following Governor Ivey’s Amended Safe at Home Order issued May 8. In keeping our ceremonies on track and one another safe, specific ceremony instructions also include:

  • Each graduate will receive six (6) tickets for family members or guests who want to attend and honor a graduating senior.
  • Families will sit together, practice social distancing from other families.
  • Social distancing provides that families allow at least six feet between families.
  • All graduates and attendees are encouraged to wear face masks.

LCSS will be following the guidelines of facility use outlined by the Alabama Department of Public Health. Social distancing will be observed the entire time staff, graduates, and families are on school grounds.

More information regarding guest tickets and ceremonial programs will be announced by school administrators. We are grateful this window of opportunity has opened and we can honor our graduating seniors. We look forward to safe graduation ceremonies and to welcoming our families to our high school campuses.
