Congratulations to Briar Davis on being selected as the ATCTC Simulated Workplace Employee of the Month for October.
Briar is a senior at Lexington High School where he has a 3.88 GPA. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, football and track teams. He is currently enrolled in his 5th course at ATCTC. He has completed courses in Automotive Services, Welding, and Industrial Systems. He will graduate with six hours of college credit in Industrial Systems Technology at NWSCC. He is a member of SkillsUSA and the NTHS. Briar will be competing in the Industrial Systems event this year at the Lauderdale County CTSO Competition Day. According to Mr. Hester, Briar is a proven leader who is the first to get started and always leads group activities. He enjoys working on projects and completing the task at hand. He works very well with his hands and is always solving problems that occur during activities. He is great to help out other students who may need assistance on a lab assignment. Briar is a perfect example of what an employee of the month should be each day. Briar currently works at Dison Group LLC Industrial General Contractor. Briar is applying for the NUCOR Technical Academy and the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program at NWSCC and Calhoun Community College.
Congratulations to Annie White on being selected as the Lauderdale County Schools Career & Technical Education “Student of the Month” for October!
Annie is a senior at Central High School where she is a member of Mrs. Hendrick’s Health Science program and CNA class. She currently has 4.3 overall GPA. She is a member of the CHS Senior Top Ten. She is an active member of HOSA and currently serves as HOSA president. She participates in Upward Bound through Northwest-Shoals Community College. Annie is also the senior class president. She has been inducted into the National Technical Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She is a member of FCCLA, History Club, Peers for Life, Spanish Club, Key Club, and Senior High Student Council. She is a member of FCA where she serves as a leader and a member of the Central Heights Baptist Church Youth Group. She participates in Scholars’ Bowl and currently serves as team captain. She has been selected as a four-time UCA All-American Cheerleader and is a co-captain for the Central Wildcats varsity cheer team. Annie is a graduate of Youth Leadership Shoals and was selected as 2nd runner up in the Distinguished Young Women program and the 2019 Miss Northwest Alabama. Annie was voted the 2019 CHS Homecoming Queen. She will have completed 28 hours of college credit by her graduation date. Annie is a proven leader who is focused on her school work and career goals.
