  • Congratulations to Megan Boyd on being selected as Allen Thornton Career Technical Center’s “Employee of the Month” for January!

    Megan Boyd

     
    Megan is a senior at Brooks High School where she has a 4.0 GPA. She earned a score of 30 on her ACT as a junior. Megan is currently enrolled in her 5th class in Mrs. Pongetti’s Culinary Arts program. Megan is a dedicated and dependable student. She had perfect attendance at ATCTC the 1st semester of this school year. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and FCCLA, where she serves as treasurer. She is the manager/head chef at ATCTC’s Common Grounds Coffee Bar. She is a leader in the classroom, always going above and beyond what is expected of her. At Brooks High School, Megan is a member of FBLA, FCCLA, and serves as a Pride Ambassador. She placed 3rd in Business Communications at the state FBLA competition last year.

  • Congratulations to Savannah Jordan from Lexington High School on being selected as the LCSS “Student of the Month” for January!

    Savannah Jordan

    Savannah was the youngest person ever to be hired at Longhorn Steakhouse in Florence because of her fantastic job interview skills. They are very impressed with her because she shows great initiative in wanting to learn all she can while she is there.  Savannah recently won 1st place at the Northwest-Shoals Community College Business Division Competition because of those Job Interview skills. She also won 1st place in Cover Letter. Savannah always strives to do her very best in every task that she is given. In Family and Consumer Science, Savannah plans to compete in Focus On Children in the STAR Events. In Focus On Children, she has the opportunity to complete a child development project that will have a positive impact on children and the community. Savannah pays attention to detail and plans to teach elementary classes as part of her upcoming project beginning in January. Savannah completes projects utilizing talents like creativity by free-hand lettering and exceptional detailing. She will be seeking ServSafe credentialing in the spring. Savannah is a dependable, self-motivated student striving to do her best work so that she can incorporate her skills and abilities into her bright future and career!
