ATCTC Student of the Month: Jordan Steen
Congratulations to Allen Thornton’s Student of the Month for May: Jordan Steen. Jordan is a junior Engineering and Precision Machining student who has come to ATCTC from Lexington High School for the past two years.
According to his instructors at Allen Thornton, Jordan is a very smart and creative student who has worked hard and achieved much during his time in Career Tech classes. Jordan has been a two-year member of SkillsUSA where he has competed at District and State Levels. This year he is a State 1st Place Winner in Related Technical Math and will be competing in National SkillsUSA in Louisville, KY in June. While in the Engineering class, he has earned his credentials in Autodesk Inventor and Revit. In Precision Machining, he is working on the CNC mill and MasterCam with plans to earn dual-completer status in Engineering and Precision Machining when he graduates next year. At LHS, Jordan is a member of the band and Robotics team.
Congratulations to Jordan! We look forward to having him at ATCTC again as a senior!

ATCTC Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to the ATCTC Teacher of the Year for 2018, Mr. Karson Cupp. Mr. Cupp is currently in his third year of teaching Building Construction at ATCTC, with an additional year at Holt High School in Tuscaloosa County. He is a 2007 graduate of Muscle Shoals High School, and attended Northwest Shoals Community College to earn both short and long-term certificates in Carpentry and Cabinetmaking. At ATCTC, Mr. Kupp serves as a SkillsUSA Adviser and provides his students with NCCER certification and instruction.
