Opportunity to Participate in Voluntary Research

January 2018

Sara Miles will be conducting a research study at Central High School as an educational specialist candidate at the University of North Alabama.

The purpose of this study will be to contrast the reasons why parents and caregivers choose to academically redshirt their child and delay entry into kindergarten compared with allowing their child to enter on time in kindergarten.

If interested in participating, this online eligibility survey will take 10 minutes of your time to complete and does not cost to participate.

The eligibility requirements for the research study includes: parent or caregiver of a student that attended or will attend kindergarten at Central School, parent or caregiver of a student with a summer birthday (June, July, or August), awareness of the option to academically redshirt by delaying entry into kindergarten. Participants must meet all requirements in order to be eligible to participate in the research. Eligible participants will be contacted via email to further participate in the research study.

Participation in this survey is voluntary, optional, and can be completed at your leisure during the month of January 2018.

Please contact Sara Miles at seharrison.una.edu or 2567401070 with any questions or concerns regarding this survey or research project.
