Rogers Students Receive Career Tech Awards

Katelyn Pettyjohn and Gracie Holden have been named Employee of the Month and Student of the Month, respectively, at Allen Thornton Career Technical Center. Allen Thornton has two student recognition programs, Student of the Month and Employee of the Month. The winner of the Student of the Month award is nominated by the career tech teachers at their home school. The Employee of the Month award goes to a student who has been nominated by his or her teacher at Allen Thornton Career Technical Center. Gracie Holden won the Student of the Month award for September and was nominated by Tammie Dial, the Family and Career Sciences teacher at Rogers High School. Katelyn Pettyjohn won Employee of the Month for August and was nominated by her Teaching & Training teacher, Somer Horton, at ATCTC. ATCTC has begun a workplace simulation program for all its classes, treating all students like employees who must clock in, attend "work" regularly, and follow workplace rules and procedures. Congratulations, Katelyn and Gracie, for being role models for your fellow students. We are proud of you!
