Two teachers from Lauderdale County attended the GenCyber Cyber Charged cybersecurity summer camp for teachers and teachers-in-training at the University of Alabama at Huntsville in June. Tania Williams of Lauderdale County High School and Abby Moon of Rogers High School engaged in hands-on lab exercises, demos, and group-based curriculum development at the five-day camp. Topics covered included staying safe online, cyber attack demos, and setting up a virtual machine, to name a few. Camps are offered for students as well, and all camps are funded jointly by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation.
