• Lauderdale County School System Strategic Plan

At the June 6, 2019 meeting, the Lauderdale County Board of Education unanimously approved the 2019-2024 Lauderdale County Schools Strategic Plan. The 2019-2024 Strategic Plan includes goals and action steps to provide high-quality, equitable educational opportunities to its students.

In community five-year strategic planning meetings held in 2018 and 2019, Lauderdale County School System Board of Education, then-superintendent, Jon Hatton, and the administration engaged its residents and community stakeholders to provide input in answering primary questions at what students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders want from its public schools.

The outgrowth of the strategic process was the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan. The four elements of the plan include:

    • Governance and Leadership
    • Teaching and Learning
    • Facilities, Resources, and Support Systems
    • Collaboration and Communication

At the heart of this engaging work is a shift in the delivery models of content instruction. While it is widely recognized that nothing can replace a teacher in a classroom with students, today’s lifestyle demands, hastened by the COVID-19 pandemic strategies, call for shifting teaching and learning models. In meeting the directives from the Alabama State Department of Education and our families’ needs, LCSS will be offering online at-home learning for our students in addition to the traditional on-campus learning.
