McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act

Subtitle VII-B of The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act authorizes the federal Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) Program and is the primary piece of federal legislation related to the education of children and youth experiencing homelessness. It was reauthorized in December 2015 by Title IX, Part A, of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance grant from the State Department of Education to provide educational supports to students experiencing homelessness. If you live in a shelter or transitional housing program, or if you couch surf with friends or family because you do not have a permanent address; or if you live in a motel or campground because you cannot find or afford housing or live in a car, abandoned building or a place not normally designed for sleeping, we are here to help.
