The costs of meals in schools are as follows:

• Breakfast prices
  • Offered and available at no cost to all students
  • Employees -- $3.25
  • Visitors -- $3.50
• Lunch prices
  • Offered and available at no cost to all students
  • Employees -- $5.25
  • Visitor -- $5.50
• Students will be responsible for purchasing any extra items outside of the meal provided. 
• Extra Milk $0.50

Lauderdale County CNP follows a lunch meal pattern as regulated by the USDA. The following lists a breakdown of the lunch meal pattern:

• 2 oz minimum (9th-12th) and 1 oz minimum (K-8th) meat/meat alternate daily
• 2 oz minimum (9th-12th) and 1 oz minimum (K-8th) equivalent grain daily
• 1 cup minimum (9th-12th) and 1 cup minimum (K-8th) of vegetable daily
• 1 cup minimum (9th-12th) and 1 cup minimum (K-8th) of fruit daily
• 1 cup milk daily for all grades (milk choices vary according to availability at school)
• Daily Calories for Lunch:
• K-5th -550 to 650 calories
• 6th-8th -600 to 700 calories
• 9th-12th -750 to 850 calories

To meet this requirement, School Meal Program sponsors must notify applicants and participants that (1) the purpose for collecting race and ethnicity data is to determine how effectively School Meal Programs are reaching potentially eligible students, (2) the provision of this data is voluntary, (3) responses are kept confidential, and (4) responses have no effect on eligibility. Notifications must be posted on local School Food Authority or school websites no later than October 1, 2023, in a language and format that applicants and participants can understand.

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a program available through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs that allows eligible schools to provide free meals to all students, regardless of household income. This option ensures that every student has access to nutritious meals each day, helping to support their focus, well-being, and academic success — without the need for families to submit meal applications.
