LC Virtual Academy has partnered with EdgenuityⓇ, a Web-based curriculum, to enhance your child’s educational experience. Students in grades 7-12 will be assigned an LCVA teacher that will monitor students’ progress, be available for academic support, and communicate with students and parents.
LCVA middle and high school (7-12) teachers will meet with students virtually and have established office hours. These office hours allow students to schedule a time to talk with their teachers. Teachers will answer all questions/emails and phone calls within 24-business hours. The program is self-paced and with automatic due dates that ensure students complete each quarter's work by the end of the grading period.
Virtual learning allows students to establish their own weekly schedule-day(s) and time(s) schoolwork is completed. However, students must maintain adequate weekly progress and attendance in order to continue with LCVA. For the 2021-2022 school year, adequate weekly progress is defined as "On Target" in all courses on Sunday at 11:59 pm OR work 10 hours AND complete 35 activities each Monday-Sunday calendar week. Students who do not maintain adequate academic progress and attendance will be expelled from LCVA and sent back to their registered home school for face-to-face learning.
The LCVA program is popular with high school students who desire a flexible school schedule. This includes students who are employed, students with special medical needs, students who are experiencing social challenges at their current schools, and students who wish to accelerate their graduation. Enrollment is open prior to the beginning of each new academic semester and is a semester-long commitment.
