The Lauderdale County Special Education Department is committed to locating and evaluating children who are ages 0-21 and are suspected of having a disability that adversely affects their educational performance and who may be in need of specialized instruction.

If you feel that you need more information or have any questions, please contact our office at 760-1300.

Child Find is a statewide effort by the Alabama State Department of Education and the Department of Rehabilitation Services to locate, identify, and evaluate children with disabilities from birth to age 21.

Child Find helps the child, the family, and the provider to plan appropriate services and link families to services for students meeting eligibility requirements in a variety of disability areas.

For more information about Child Find, contact the Special Education department at the Lauderdale County Board of Education at 256-760-1300.
