Welcome to Child Nutrition!


2014-2015 Applications for Free or Reduced School Meals are located in the back of your child's handbook.    These may be filled out and turned in to your child's school or at the County Office.

The mission of the Lauderdale County Child Nutrition Program, an integral component of your child's education, is to provide a variety of healthy food items and nutrition education to empower your student to make wise choices.

Breakfast prices are $.75 for full paying students and $.30 for reduced students.  Lunch prices are $1.75 for full paying students and $.40 for reduced students.  Breakfast prices for employees and visitors are $1.00 with lunch prices for employees at $2.25 and visitors at $3.25. 

At the start of the 2012-2013 school year Lauderdale County implemented a new lunch meal pattern as regulated by the USDA.  The following lists a breakdown of the lunch meal pattern which applies for the 2014-2015 school year:

2 oz minimum (9th-12th) and 1 oz minimum (K-8th) meat/meat alternate daily

2 oz minimum (9th-12th) and 1 oz minimum (K-8th) equivalent grain daily

1 cup minimum (9th-12th) and 3/4 cup minimum (K-8th) of vegetable daily

1 cup minimum (9th-12th) and 1/2 cup minimum (K-8th) of fruit daily

1 cup milk daily for all grades (milk choices vary according to availability at school)

Daily Calories for Lunch:

  K-5th -550 to 650 calories

6th-8th -600 to 700 calories

9th-12th -750 to 850 calories
